Fence Repair in Watters Crossing
Nearly every home in Watters Crossing went up in four years, 1993 through 1996. The fences are aging together, street by street.
One Build Era, One Fence Age
A fence original to a Watters Crossing house is 30 to 33 years old in 2026. If yours has never been replaced, a full replacement quote belongs next to any repair quote.
Because the neighborhood was built so quickly, neighbors tend to hit the same fence problems in the same few years. That has a practical upside: the owner on the other side of your worst stretch is probably looking at it too, and is easier to talk into sharing a replacement than an owner whose side looks fine.
If an earlier owner already replaced your fence, the date of that work is what counts. Steel posts are the quickest clue that it has been redone.

Lots Near the Creek and the Lakes
Watters Crossing has small lakes, Watters Creek Park and a wooded stretch along Watters Creek with trails. Lots that back onto those areas raise two questions a standard interior lot does not.
- Is any of the lot in a floodplain or easement? The city’s guideline says no fence of any kind is allowed in a floodplain, and fences in drainage or utility easements need the Engineering Department’s permission.
- Whose fence is it? A fence facing common area may be the association’s, or may have to match a set style.
Ask the city about the first and the association about the second before a replacement along that line.

The Association
Watters Crossing has a homeowner association with a pool, clubhouse and other shared amenities. This site has not read its fence standards and does not describe them. The city’s guideline tells owners to check with their HOA before applying for a permit, and that is the right order here.
Watters Crossing Fence Questions
My Watters Crossing fence is original. Repair or replace?
At about 30 years, check the posts. If they are wood and several are loose, compare a replacement on steel posts with the repair before deciding.
Can I build a fence along the creek side of my lot?
Ask the City of Allen where the floodplain and easements are on your lot. The city’s guideline does not allow fences in floodplain areas.
Do I need HOA approval to replace my fence?
Ask the association. The city itself tells owners to check with their HOA before applying for a permit.
