Fence Repair in Waterford Parks

The Repair Years
An original Waterford Parks fence is 11 to 25 years old in 2026. That is the range where replacing a handful of posts and the worst boards usually makes more sense than starting over.
The earliest streets are reaching the point where the first posts let go. The newest are a decade old and mostly need gates adjusted and wood stained.
Run the five-minute check. If fewer than a third of the posts in a stretch move, a repair quote is the place to start.

If Your Lot Backs to the Greenbelt or Creek
Greenbelts and creeks come with lines on the plat that ordinary lots do not have. Three sentences in the City of Allen’s fence guideline apply:
- Fences of any kind are not permissible in floodplain areas.
- Fences in drainage, utility, water or sewer easements are not permissible without the express permission of the Engineering Department.
- Fences are customarily allowed in the standard 3-foot lot line drainage easement.
A like-for-like repair of an existing fence is one thing. Moving the back fence outward, or replacing it with something taller or solid, is when to ask the city where those lines fall on your lot.
Fences facing a greenbelt are also the ones an association is most likely to own or to regulate. Waterford Parks has an association; this site has not read its fence standards.

Is a 15-year-old fence worth repairing?
Usually, if most posts are solid. Replace the posts that move and the boards that are soft, then stain it.
Can I extend my fence toward the creek?
Not without checking with the city. Its guideline bars fences in floodplain areas and limits them in easements.
Does the HOA have to approve a repair?
Ask the association. Like-for-like repairs are often treated differently from changes in height, style or color.
